I recently discovered a safe called the Barska Biometric Safe, which is amazing because it is the perfect safe for anyone who has trouble remembering where they put their keys! Keys are bulky and easily misplaced, however this biometric safe reads your fingerprint (actually up to 30 programmed in users) and opens the safe for registered users.
I was skeptical about the reliability of a biometric safe, but after some research I'm fairly confident the safe will open accurately and quickly, and most importantly only for those individuals who have programmed their fingerprints into the safe.
This Barska safe does come with some backup keys which can be safely stowed away in case one needs to access it with the keys (such as if the batteries that power the electronic lock die).
Perhaps the batteries are the only downfall in a safe of this nature, since it has the ongoing expense of replacing those batteries. Still it doesn't consume a whole lot of power and if only opened periodically those batteries should last a long time.
